Chapter Twenty

Welcome to the world Poppy and Senna. I hope I'd added a couple of little vampires to my brood. I'd know before too long.






As I tended to the newborns, the other children ate breakfast and left for school. I decided to meander up to the third floor and check the view from the balcony.






The client purchased the latest biography and my bank account was flush again. I was eager to finally furnish the living room. The library just off the living room would be used as a small playroom for now. With a nice curtain it wouldn't stand out glaringly as a room for toys.








Initially I wanted gray furnishings. But with a house full of children and plasma drinkers, red seemed more prudent. I felt like the lady of the manor reading my vampire tome and sipping plasma in my posh living room.












The triplets brought home 'B's and M & M brought home 'C's.










Hunter had a rough day at school and needed some time with me.
















It felt odd having two kids up all night with me while the others slept. I rather missed having the house to myself.






But they used their time wisely: doing extra credit work, learning vampire lore and repairing things around the house while I wrote.

We didn't celebrate holidays for the most part, so Thanksgiving was just another day for us. After they were all tucked in bed it was time to pick up the house and write. I sold the fifth book of my Ebony Cutlass series: Lover Released . I posted it as the first snow of the season came down. The first day of winter arrived with more snow. I labored longer than I expected. I needed to suck down plasma to get through it. Finally I gave birth to twins. I named my twin daughters, Daria and Bianca. There wasn't any way to tell at this point who they would look like or if they would be vamps. I was optimistic and in love with motherhood. Some of the charm wore off when my doubles proved to be trouble. They frequently shit and cried in tandem. I stumbled through the bottles, diapers, cuddling, and rocking with spurts of writing. Then my lappy went tits up and I had to Youtube on my phone to fix it myself. Despite all the hassle I managed to complete my first romance trilogy: Fifty Shades of Blood , Fifty Shades Bloodier , and Fifty Shades Imprisoned . As I walked out to mail the last manuscript to the publisher, the first snow was falling. I even squeezed in some vampy skilling and ranked up from a Vampire Fledgling to a Minor Vampire. I quickly discovered that sustaining my thirst with plasma pouches had me spending money faster than I could make it. I learned I could fish or hunt for frogs to convert to plasma. As unappetizing as that sounded, I was game to try. Fishing relaxed me, but it felt like a waste of time. I could be writing and earning money. I left the fishing spot feeling discouraged when I spotted Marcus. He walked right past me like he'd never seen me before. That fucker! I made up my mind right there and then, that we'd go on a date and I'd convince him to become my man. Then we'd go on another date and I'd dump his ass. No one's treating me like that.
